Football training highlights commonalities between people, teaching children tolerance, cooperation, and respect for differences. Embedded in local communities, Champion School uses football training to teach socially and economically disadvantaged youth these skills and also discipline, confidence, and leadership. These skills prepare them for our literacy education programs and inter-group dialogue workshops.
After acquiring skills like communication, discipline, and teamwork through football training, our students will be introduced to our specially designed curricula focusing on personal academic development. Our courses include English Public Speaking workshops, Cultural Movie Camp, and Creative Theatre Performance.
With a holistic approach, our football training and academic learning focus on personal growth and development. Built on such support, we specifically design and incorporate workshops on reading theropy and theatrical performances centered on non-violence communication and inter-group reconciliation. We aim to transform our students from children at risk to future community leaders and builders.
We are a non-profit organization and rely on our volunteers for all our events. As a volunteer, you will be joining a team of care, love, and distinguishingly optimism to create champions for the future of Syria.
There are many ways you can volunteer: Sports coach, teacher, or other ways --- Let's brainstorm!
Champion School has been closely monitoring COVID19 development on the ground in Syria and adjusting our courses and programs accordingly. However, we have also noticed significantly unequal impact on our female students and have been taking actions to counter this effect, including case by case follow-up. We will announce our re-openning and are looking forward to welcoming our students back to our physical classes next year!
Please note: Football training remains open till notified otherwise.
